So, it’s been a week since the Mets had their last off day before today. They were in first place riding an 8 game winning streak and looking forward to the series with Philly. Six games have been played since then and the Mets have gone 2 – 4 and are currently looking up at the Phils in the standings and our main starters were banged up for a massive amount of runs.

Where has all the magic gone?

This was the true test for the Mets. I knew the Phils were not just going to lay down and die, even after the Mets whipping they took in the Friday night game. I had all the confidence in the world that Pelfrey and Santana were going to take care of the Phils, my only worry was Neise, and he ended up being the best starter we had that weekend. Pelfrey had some bad luck on the defensive side so I can’t kill him all the way, but Santana – jeez what happened?

The Reds series was just a semi-heartbreaker. We could have won all three games, but instead we give them the winning runs in both losses at their last turns at bat. I feel bad, then I don’t , then I do – I have no real opinion other than I hope the mets wake up and get back to their winning ways. I’m not looking for seeps of series, but I am looking for splits or wins! 2 out of 3, 2 out of 4 – that will keep us in the race!

Now it’s time for Lincecum and the Giants to come into town and clash with the Mets – I’m eager to see Lincecum on the mound…and nervous.
