The Mets swept the Dodgers yesterday behind a great performance by John Maine. Though not perfect, he showed more signs of getting his stuff in order and seems to be heading in the right direction. Striking out the side in the sixth inning was the highlight for me, I actually sat there and couldn’t believe what I just saw! That was John Maine? Yes it was!

The Mets are finally firing on all cylinders! You can’t deny that. The pitching is great, not amazing, but great. Our bullpen is stellar and keeps the Mets in the game. The hitting is just clicking – everyone is contributing and they seem to just get the hits when they need to. Pagan gave us another triple yesterday, Wright is hitting, Davis is still making us go WOW! You just gotta love it! I just pray to the baseball gods that the Mets keep the fire going into this weekend.

Now comes the true test for the Mets. They’re going into Philly hoping to take 2out of three and keep the top spot in the NL East. The Phillies have been hit with injuries and not all of their starters are doing what they need to be doing. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Winning the series this weekend tells MLB we’re not a fluke. Sweeping the series scares them! Let’s Go Mets!!
