Autism is close to my heart. Back in the day I managed a Sam Goody store in Middle Village, NY and every Saturday I had an autistic customer come in with his family and buy a VHS tape. He was the friendliest person I knew and always made my day when he came in. Ever since then, I always tried my best to support Autism and did whatever I could to help. One of my followers on Instagram posted a photo about a fundraiser for Joey’s Team – who will be walking at Citi Field on May 5th.
Anything you can do to help would be great! Here is a link to her site if you care to make a donation.
Here’s the story in her own words:
[colored_box color=”blue”]To give you a little bit of background information, my cousin Joey is 10 years old and is Autistic. Each year for the last 6 years I have had the privilege of being a part of “Joey’s Team” and walking in the Walk Now For Autism Speaks walk. This year, it is much different. The walk is in a new location (Citifield on May 5th) which we are so excited about because our team is the Grand Marshal! This is HUGE for us. Our team goal is 15k and we are well on our way there, but what will really help is this fundraiser. It will be held at Austin’s Steak & Ale House where we will have food, a DJ and raffles in hopes of reaching our goal. All proceeds from this event will go to Joey’s Team/Autism Speaks.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
