The break between the Super Bowl and baseball is finally over. It may only be Spring Training, but just hearing how players look when they report to camp is better than nothing. The emails from have started to surface in my inbox and Tweets about Johan starting on Opening Day are everywhere.

There is so much to look forward to this year. Though we may try to act like we don’t care, Jose Reyes’ performance will be one thing we look for nightly along with how the Mets did come baseball season. It’s only human. You’re in a relationship with someone, they break up with you and then you find yourself stalking their Facebook profile to see what they’re doing without you. Again, you’ll never admit it, but you know you’re looking.

How about Ike Davis? Will last year’s injury affect his play this year? I surely hope not. Ike is definitely one of the highlights of this team, even more so after the departure of Reyes. I’m looking forward to a full season with Ike Davis and I hope he sticks around for a while and avoids the trade gauntlet. Yes, I did say trade gauntlet because at this point anyone is fair game.

The rotation is always up in the air. Will Johan be ready for Opening Day? Will R.A. Dickey keep it going? Pelfrey? Gee? I can honestly say I have no idea what to expect from the starters. I’ve read all kinds of reports about expectations, but you all know there is nothing to be said until April.

As far as David Wright? Well, let’s just wait and see what happens after the trade deadline.
