The passing of Ralph Kiner left me with a bit of a heavy heart because it was another piece of my childhood gone – but not forgotten. Watching Mets games in my living room back in Jackson Heights was only concluded when after I watched Kiner’s Korner and listened to his thoughts on the game. It was a ritual that I knew all true die hard Mets fans kept holy along with myself.
I decided to listen to the audio available on WFAN about Ralph Kiner and was especially delighted by Howie Rose’s remembrance of the Hall of Famer. Instead of trying to come up with the words myself about how much of an amazing man he was, I will leave it to his peers and former ballplayers. Goodbye Ralph, we’ll miss you.
