Addison Reed spent only a mere two months with the New York Mets, but within that time frame he went from playing for Arizona with no hopes of making the postseason, to making an appearance in the 2015 World Series.
Though everyone loves being on a contending team, Reed said that wasn’t the most important reason to wanting to come back, but rather being in a clubhouse with some of the greatest group of guys he’s ever played baseball with. When asked about being brought back to the fold, he had the following to say:
I was hoping they would tendered me a contract to be honest with you. I had a blast the month, month and a half I was here. It was probably the most fun I’ve had playing baseball.
Reed also added,
I was happy, my wife was happy, my family was happy, yeah, I don’t think there was anyone that was disappointed in my side of the family that was upset I was going back. It worked out and I’m happy to be here.
Addison Reed joined Pete McCarthy on WOR to talk spring training and life in the Big Apple.
