2012 is upon us and unfortunately the outlook seems even bleaker than last year. There is no reason to state the obvious, it’s simply going to be a different team next year to say the least. Friends come and go all the time in life, and baseball is no different.

Watching MLB Network today, they showed all the highlights from 2010, as well as 2011 – their greatest plays countdowns. I remember seeing only three plays positively involving the Mets in 2011 – they involved David Wright, Justin Turner and Dan Murphy. The 2010 countdown highlighted the three catches Ike Davis made over the railing.

If there is anything positive to take away from this, it’s the fact that we still have all of those players on our roster. Some may say I’m reaching, but I just think it’s better to look at the glass half full at this point.

The new year brings many changes, not just for the Mets but for this blog. No one wants to read the obvious news about the Mets, so you’ll never see it here. If you want up to the minute news, follow Twitter and the guys that get paid to write about the team. I like to keep it simple and fan oriented. I love the game of baseball and plan on highlighting as much as I can on here, but I hope to post even more this year than in the past.

The door is always open for any new writers, so if you want to take s hot at writing a few posts, please feel free to contact me. It would be awesome to get some other point of vires on here so please don’t be shy, give it a try!

For now, I hope everyone had super holidays and the new year brings more good time and prosperity. Let’s Go Mets!
