The Mets are hovering in second place behind the Braves and looking to take the top spot before heading into the Bronx. The boys seem to be firing on all cylinders and it proves to be an interesting Subway Series.

But what about the pitching? Are they ready for the challenge…again?

The Mets are looking to throw out Takahashi, Pelf and Johan again and I feel pretty good about Pelf, bug forgive me if I don’t trust the other two.

Johan is a better pitcher than his record conveys, we all know that, but we also know that he gets better later in the season. This year feels a bit different to me because we know about his off season surgery and he definitely lost velocity. Before the last two starts, he threw some serious ball, went into double digit consecutive scorless innings! The past couple of starts just did not look good at all. If it weren’t for the Mets hats coming alive, he would be in more trouble.

But that’s also only one game.

We have two more games left in Cleveland and we really need to get those into the win column. To be ten games over 500 heading into the Yankee series would be awesome! You know the confidence would be better than if has been in a long time, and with that frame of mind amongst the team, two out of three is not impossible.

I finally feel better about our boys, especially with some breathing room starting to form in the NL East. We are no way near a bad team and we can hang with the best of them. All the other teams in MLB are hanging around thirty-six to forty wins and the Mets are right there with them. Now is the time to start showing eveyone we mean business.

I’m looking forward to seeing the next couple or games to keep a tab on the Mers mojo, as well as watching the Yanks beat up on the Phillies. LET’S GO METS!!
